On December 5, 2025, Nathan Crystal and Francesca Giannoni-Crystal will present “Choice of Law and Conflicts of Interest: One Misstep Can Trigger Multi-State Discipline and Liability.” We’ll discuss how lawyer misconduct can trigger overlapping risks — from discipline and malpractice to disqualification and procedural sanctions — each shaped by different choice-of-law rules. The program focuses on conflicts of interest in cross-border and multijurisdictional practice and offers practical strategies for managing uncertainty through proactive planning, engagement-letter provisions, and internal firm procedures, with reference to Model Rule 8.5, the Restatement (Second) of Conflict of Laws, and key case law.
