Who Owns the Moon: The Legal Reality of Mining Helium – recording

On March 18, 2026, Francesca Giannoni-Crystal spoke on a panel addressing the legal framework governing space resource utilization, together with Neha Dagley and Rossana Deplano, with Kenneth Altshuler as moderator. The program was organized by Chris Salvino of Lunar Helium-3 Mining, LLC. It is part of a series of panels on lunar mining titled “From the Moon to Earth: The Trillion-Dollar Helium-3 Frontier”.

The discussion addressed key issues including whether private entities may acquire rights over resources extracted from the Moon and how international law applies when multiple actors operate in the same lunar region.

The program recording is now available.
